PLDC in Rome 2015

We are very proud to be a partner of PLDC in Rome, a unique platform to share and learn about the latest developments in lighting design and discuss the future of the lighting industry.
This 5th edition of the Professional Lighting Design Convention also officially launched Lumino’s new ColorCORE® technology. Commenting on the launch, Andrew Small, Managing Director of Lumino said:
‘We’re delighted with the positive response we’ve received to our new phosphor-core technology. PLDC was a highly inspirational convention. We would like to thank all our stand visitors for taking their time to visit our stand and sharing our vision of high performance colour rendering.’

Dr. Kevin Houser and Dr. Michael Royer’s lecture, ‘Evaluating light source colour rendition using the IES TM-30-15-method’ was one of the highlights of PLDC and Lumino is proud to be the first company in the UK to test its products according to TM-30-15.
This report details the findings of tests conducted on Lumino’s ColorCORE® linear products by LUX-TSI according to colour rendering method TM-30-15. Technical Memorandum TM-30-15 is a new method of evaluating light source colour rendition published by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES)in 2015. The CIE 1965 method for measuring CRI Ra relies on just 8 colour samples contributing to the Ra value. TM-30-15 uses 99 new colour evaluation samples (CES) to measure colour fidelity Rf with an additional measure Rg for gamut area.

All the Lumino team had a fabulous time on Saturday night for the PLDC gala dinner at Rome’s Cinecittà Studios. We had the pleasure to share our table with Isabel Sanchez Sevillano, lighting designer at Dot Dash in New York City and Veronika Mayerböck, choreographer and lighting designer in Vienna.

The next Professional Lighting Design Convention, PLDC 2017 will be held in Paris, the City of Light.
