Battersea art’otel
The entrance to London's new art'otel at Battersea features twelve striking stainless steel blades, each illuminated with 4.3m of LUMINO Vector V20S OPX in ColorCORE® 3000K warm white.
The hotel is part of the Battersea Roof Gardens Phase 3 project designed by Foster + Partners on Electric Boulevard, located to the south of the Grade II listed Battersea Power Station.
Specified by Speirs Major, the V20S lighting provides a strong and consistent, linear glow in 2-Step SDCM to ensure unform colour temperature. Measuring just 20x20mm in section, the OPX specification provides up to 2000lm per metre with colour rendering CRI 95.
"LUMINO are very pleased to have been involved with this wonderful project and to have our lighting chosen to be part of Speirs Major's carefully considered design."
Chris Small LUMINO
LUMINO provided technical support to assist with the challenge of incorporating lighting into the semi-concealed, double doors within the entrance wall facade without interrupting the line of light.
The finished effect achieves both a warm and welcoming environment for arriving hotel guests and a visually distinctive design, using light as an architectural element.
Jaime Hayon is the hotel's designer and signature artist and has created a unique identity that will inspire, intrigue and excite guests.
“I wanted to create a journey for guests and bring a completely new hotel experience to London, one that blends great comfort with a new vision of contemporary creativity. It’s been a true honour to work on this project.”

Battersea art'otel officially launched in February 2023 and work is ongoing for the remaining parts of Phase 3, in which Speirs Major will continue to deliver lighting for further buildings by Frank O. Gehry; Foster + Partners; Bjarke Ingels Group and Wilkinson Eyre.
