Lumen Gala 2016

Last week, the Illuminating Engineering Society of New York City held the 48th annual Lumen Gala.
Approximately 900 members of the lighting community and affiliated design industries attended the gala — a record-breaking year. The Gala was the winners night to shine and everyone's night to bask in the glow of all the festivities, sponsored by the New York chapter of IESNA.
Awards of Excellence were presented to Tillotson Design Associates for the Lincoln Square Synagogue, and Fisher, Marantz, Stone for their design at Covington & Burling in Washington DC. Awards of Merit were presented to One Lux Studio, Tillotson Design Associates, KGM Architectural Lighting, Domingo Gonzalez Associates, and BuroHappold Engineering, who won two Awards of Merit.
During the gala, there was a moving tribute to Nathan (Sonny) Sonnenfeld as fond memories were recalled by his friends and colleagues at a beautiful memoriam to this true legend of the lighting industry.

Everyone from the hosts of the Gala to the recipients of awards to the audience enjoyed themselves immensely and had a great time before, during, and after reveling in the night that reflects what the best in the industry has to offer. A heartfelt thanks go to our partner, O’Blaney Rinker Associates.
