DLFNY Christmas Party

DLFNY Christmas Party

Lumino had the pleasure of attending the Designer’s Lighting Forum of New York annual Christmas party to celebrate another year working with colleagues in the industry.

The event, on December 6, gave not only the chance to get together and enjoy one or two (or three!) delicious cocktails but also the opportunity to give back.

Everyone brought toys or a monetary donation for the Toys for Tots programme run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. The project collects and donates toys to children whose families struggle to buy them gifts at Christmas.

There was also the chance for the DLFNY to commend members for their outstanding work. President Matt Franks (Arup Lighting) presented treasurer Kathleen Carlisle (Dark No More, LLC) an award of appreciation for all she has done for the organisation over the last year.

Sadly, a moment of silence and reflection was held for Stephen E. Lohm, a treasured member of the lighting community and past member of the DLFNY board of directors for many years.

Kelly Heaton, Operations Administrator at Lumino, attended the party on behalf of everyone at the company and said:

“It was an amazing event. It may have been cold and dreary outside but inside was warm with good cheer, stories and the promise of special memories for hundreds of children come Christmas morning thanks to the generosity of our lighting community. I was proud to be there representing Lumino.”
