Control Room A

Restoration has breathed new life into the cherished gem of London's iconic Battersea Power Station, Control Room A.
A skilled team painstakingly resurrected the original switchboards, control panels, and machinery, in Turbine Hall A, returning them to their former glory. They employed digital scanning to faithfully replicate the paint colors from the 1930s, 3D printing to recreate missing knobs and buttons, and new LED lighting to illuminate the control panel's backlit circuit diagrams.

LUMINO supplied bespoke versions of its Vector V10S lights to be used in backlighting the control panels across all the switchboards as part of Speirs Major's extensive lighting design.
We are proud to play our part in the restoration of this iconic London builidng, ensuring that the Control Room can once again captivate visitors and serve as a testament to the architectural and historical significance of Battersea Power Station.

Originally designed to oversee the distribution of electricity, powering significant portions of London, including esteemed landmarks like Buckingham Palace, Control Room A had languished in neglect after the power station's decommissioning in 1975.
Architects WilkinsonEyre, in a close collaboration with Historic England, embarked on a meticulous restoration endeavor to revive the Grade II listed Art Deco sanctuary.
