Smith & Wollensky, London
Located in the City of Westminster in London, this classic American steakhouse opened its doors in June 2015 in the Adelphi Building, an icon of modernist architecture.
The Manhattan flagship was the editor’s favorite in The Devil Wears Prada and a Wall Street hangout in American Psycho.
Lighting Design by MBDS.
The stunning design was driven by Martin Brudnizki. “The lighting at Smith & Wollensky was inspired by the rich heritage of the American brand and the building’s classic 1930s design. It is elegant yet relaxed and works hand in hand with the simplistic wall finishes, reclaimed oak detailing and leather upholstery that you’d find in a steakhouse of this quality. Much of the lighting is bespoke, such as the 1930s-inspired bar pendants which feature a hand-cut finish and reflect billiard lighting of the era. The copper leaf ceiling highlights the bespoke ceiling pendants and helps to produce a warm glow which enhances the atmosphere of the restaurant” commented MBDS.
Ambient lighting is provided by Lumino Vector V10S, Vector V12S using our High CRI LEDs in 2000K.
Lumino Vector profiles with ColorCORE™ offer an intimate lighting without compromising colour rendering.
